Involvement Fairs

Recruiting new members is one of the most important functions of student organizations, and one of the most challenging. Our office offers several opportunities throughout the year for organizations to display information and talk with potential members.

Get a Clue

Our largest involvement fair of the year, Get a Clue is held during the second week of the fall semester on ECU’s Mall in the center of main campus. Featuring hundreds of student organizations, campus departments, volunteer opportunities, community partners, and local businesses, this event is a great way for new students to get connected to ECU’s community. Information about signing up for a table goes out to student groups and campus departments during the spring and summer. External groups that are interested in attending can contact our office at sao@ecu.edu for more information. There is a sponsorship fee for businesses interested in tabling at this event.

Category-Specific Get a Clue

To give students a chance to explore their interests, we offer four to five smaller Get a Clue events each semester, each of which is themed for organizations within categories. Previous categories have included academic, service, well-being, religious, cultural, social, and special interest organizations.

New Student Orientation Involvement Fairs

Incoming students attending summer orientation have a chance to meet some of our student organizations during the evening. In addition to interest sessions for campus involvement and resources, students can visit clubs and campus departments to start making connections.

Open House and Pirates Aboard

These events, hosted by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, offer a chance for potential new students to learn about campus and make connections to ECU. Our office hosts involvement fairs at these events to allow our student organizations a chance to meet these students and begin recruiting members.
